FEILDING NOTES.

s Mr Ernest Short lias just concluded a large purchase of land fronting Kimbolton road at Cheltenham. Tbe blook cousist9 of 1100 acres acquired from the estite of the late Mr B. J, Rididfcrd, The o«t»te. is a, vaipblo one and Mr Shoit will still farther increase its value. He proposes to use the land as a model stud farm for; his pedigree Hereford cattle, Boiiitiey' $ m V au(i 01 y de6dale draoglife Mr Siliilli of t'aijton has just dispart of his farm of about 60 acres, a lal'fle proportion of which is 1Q orohard cnltivation, to a well known Kimbolton road farmer at a good figure. Mr Smith, who lias previously been ussd to Bheep farming rather than cows ami fruit coltivnting. will revert to that branch cf the | farming industry with which lie is most aoonsfcumed.

Yet another blastiug accident has ocouirad, fortunately on this occasion not fatally. The accident icourred at Aorangi and in much the usuual way the fwe falling to lire and taking effect jut ae the operator was returning to remedy matters. Nasty outs and iujnries were received about the head and face, but fortunately nothing serious. The man was removed for medioal treatment, and so far is progressing favourably.

The advanuo of the rinking Benson the enthusiasm increasing rather than diminishing, and the Feildiug rink, which offeis probably as good opportunites as any place between here and Wellington, still commands the attention of a largo proportion of the public. Saturday night was. uo exception to the rule and the rink was crowded.

Messrs A. Campbell and J. G. Wilson have been appointed Feildiug's delegates to the A. and P. Oonierenoe. SHOOTING. The shooting matoh arranged to take place at Cheltenham on Saturday was postponed and will probably take place next Saturday.-
