HAYDEN BEGK. ' Hayden Beok the ohild violinist, i made hie last apperauoe in Palmerston last evening, when a saored oonoert was given in Devine's Empire Hall. There was a fair attendance, and though Sunday night audienoea are rarely enthaalaetio the clever ohild's brilliant rendering of Hubert J Leonard,s arrangement of Hayden's magnificent "Hymu to the Emperor," raised a storm of applaußu All his items were given with the .power and brillianoy which has already earned him warm praise from the foremost critics in the Dominion. Miss Ellen Millar, a promising yonng Palmerston contralto. sang two solos, "Nearer My God To Thee" and "A Wreath." Miss Millar has a voice of great power and sweetness. MisS Amy Remington, L.T.0.L., gave two brilliant pianoforte solos, and also accompanied with sympathy, MASKELYNE & DEVANT. TO-NIGHT. In the Maskelyne and Devant Company which appears here tonight, Tuesday and Wednesday, is Mr Barclay Qammon, a musical humourist, who gives a half-hour of tnneß and tarradiddleß. He is at the present moment considered among the finest monologue enter- j tainers of London, Mr Gfintaro, the Japanese juggler, oreated a sensation • in Sydney, He appears in Japanese Bet soene with a little Japanese 1 assistant, and both are in gorgeous . nationl dress. Another member of • great importance is the' well-known Owen Olark, a conjurer whose in- , ventions liavo been imitated all over 5 the world. The programme is very . full, and'moves with swiftness. It is immaoulately oorrect, but it must be said that its. refinement in t no way detraots (.from its brilliaut, 9 joyous, musical fun or breathless mystery. The plan is at Park's.
