Messrs P. Wilton andM. Muloahy, of the Wellingtou Harriers' Olub passed through for Auokland yesterday to represent the Wellington Centre Of toe New Zealand Amateur Athletio Association in the Auckland Club's Marathon raoe, whioh will be run on Saturday. Tliob. Quale, who met with a serious acoidont at Fitzherbert on Tubsday, iB making satisfactory progress at the hospital. The funeral of the late Mr T. W. Nathan took place yesterday, a very largo number of relations and friends of the deceased attending to pay their last respects, The Canterbury Education Board yesterday passed a motion of oondolenoe in respeot to Mr K. H. Cape Williamson and Miss Maxwell, who perished in the wreok of the Pengnin. Mr H. C. Money, who for some' months has been acting as stipendiary lay readei in tlio parish of Piamerston North, leaves for OhristOlmroh to-day. Mr Money has obtained a scholarship for College House, Ohristchuroh and will for the next few years continue his studies at that institution,
Though the Gazette notices have not yet appeared the information we gave a little time baok as to the new' appointments in the Third Regiment Mounted Rifles is confirmed. Oapt Prwgle is to beoome Lieat-.00l of the Regiment, Oapt. Meldruw! of Hunterville, to be Major, and Lieut. Harry Palmer to be Adjqtant.
