A SOUTHERN TRAGEDY.
BABY BURNED TO DEATH. Per Press Association. Duuediu, Last Night. At Balclutha last evouiug Mrs Weir, wifo of a coal merchant, left her five-roomed dwelling to milk a cow. When she returnod she found the house in flames. The fire originated in a back bedroom where a firo had been kept burning owing to a boy, three j ears old, having a bad throat. Mrs Weir rescued her three children, but tho six-months-old baby was so badly burned about the face, arms and feet that she died this morniug.
