After all the Christmas and New Year meetings are over there are usually a good many horses whose understandings are none too good after being stretched out on courses as hard as flint such as Rangitikei for instance/ and .the question of the condition of the " going" elsewhere is a matter of much importance to owners. The Foxton Racing Club are the fortunate possessors of a racing track that, no matter how dry the weather is, has always a good deal of give in it, and many an owner has picked up a good stake there with an unsound horse—lrish Twist's Foxton Cup for example. The annual meeting of the Foxton Club takes place next year as usual on Anniversary Day, January 22, and following day. The full programme will be found in this issue on page 8. It is well arranged being varied and calculated to suit the tastes of many. The Cup is endowed with 200sovs. and is run over miles, while on the second day the principal event the President's Handicap lmilo and a distance has ISOsovs. attached. Mr J. E. Henrys will as in former years adjust the handicaps. Nominations are due with the secretary, Mr Angus Keith, on January 4th. WAIKANAE HACK RACING CLUB.
