BOWLING.

A large number of bowlers, took advantage of the beautiful weather yesterday and a very pleasant afternoon's sport was indulged in on the local greens. The following were the principal results of the different games:— Handicap Pairs.—Swallow and Pickering, 5, 84 v. Simmons and Hume, 5, 21; Worboys and A. Pickering, 6, 26 v. Pegler and Tasker, 2, 22; Bennett and Paterson, 2, 41 v. Ayling and Haydon, 5, 22; Dixon and Nash, scr., 25 v Clausen and Tliacker, 2, 23. Handicap Singles.—Nash, scr., 21 v. Payne, 4, 15; F. Mowlem 21 v. Bunting 14. Champion Singles.— Paterson 20 v. Ayling i 5; S. Pickering 20 v. Hopwood 14. ; Thacker 17 v. Short 16; A. C. Bennett 18 v. Bunting 15. The last-mentioned game was a well fought out contest, Bennett, last year's colt, playing an excellent game.
