PALMERSTON COURT.

A first offender for drunkenness was dealt with in the usual way.
A. Kow (Mr Innes) was charged with smoking opium in Fergnson-street on. July 6. Mr Fitzherbert appeared for the prosecution and stated that defendant had been convicted on two previous occasions. Fined 20s and costs 7s, solicitor £1 Is.
F. J. Stockwell, for riding a bicycle on the footpath, was fined 10s and costs 7s.
H, Woodfield was charged with plying for hire in an unlicensed cab on Jane 26. Mr Innes appeared for the defence and Mr Cooke for the prosecution. After hearing the evidence his Worship die* missed the case.
