MASTERTON A. & P. ASSOCIATION.
At the monthly meeting of the above Association, held on Saturday last, the secretary submitted the balance-sheet for the year, which showed the total receipts to have been .£3,020 Is Id; expenditure, £2771 0s 8d; balance, £249 0s sd. The assets were set down at £6993 Oa 9d liabilities, £4135 Is 9d.
Iα commenting on the balance-sheet, the president, Mr Gray, said that the association had written more off for depreciation than in any previous year. Mr Gray referred to the fact that the association had to pay a sum of .£35 for rates. He hoped the Government would be able to see its way to remit the rates which had to be paid on show grounds.
FARMERS' PETITION.
A petition circulated by the farmers of the district asking that the Arbitration and Conciliation Act be repealed as applied to country districts outside of the principal cities, was signed by all present.
