Mutton is firm and in good demand ; prime quality Canterbury brands North Island B%d. Lamb is in steady demand, chiefly for light weight; Canterbury s}j>d, other brands sd. Beef is steady; hinds 3%d, fores B^d. The butter market is lifeless except for very best quality. Choicest New Zealand 995, Danish 109s.

The hemp market is quiet but firm at unchanged rates.

The cocksfoot seed market is firm. Better demand is experienced and prices are rising. Bright clean New Zealand seed, 171bs to the bushel, on spot, 58s per cwt.
