In his confession he stated that he committed the •crime to get money to go to New Zealand. He secured £20 and did not intend to kill Mrs MacNamara, but she would not keep quiet. Beisbanb, July 15. A miner named Frederick May has been murdered on Woodlark Island. He was shot in his hut from behind while writing. One of the natives in deceased's employ has surrendered and confessed to th&crime.
