TRAFALGAR SQUARE MEETING

Three thousand members of the Indepen«dent Labour Party and Social Democratic Federation held a demonstration on Sunday in Trafalgar Square to protest against the conclusion of any agreement between Britain and Russia. The speakers, who included Will Thome, M.P., R. B. Cun- ■ uingham Graham, Mrs Despard, a promi- ■ nent leader of the woman's suffrage movement, and H. M. Hyndman, denounced Sir Edward Grey, and pleaded on behalf of ■ Baesian freedom. Jack Williams leader of the unemployed, induced the crowd to make a demonstration in Whitehall, but the police prevented Williams climbing the parapet and seized several red flags. Mr Hyndman was rolled In the mud, and , -Mrs Despard slightly injured during scuffles. A few arrest 3 were made, including two Bussians. The disturbances lasted twenty •.minutes, ■ • \
