The road between Karioi and Rangitawa is almost impassable. Storekeepers waited upon the Engineer to urge haulage of stores to Rangitawa, three miles from Ohakune. It is utterly impossible to cart over the road and provisions have almost ran out. The Engineer said he would make an effort to extend the rails to Rangitawa in order to rail stores.
