Received April 18, 12.45 a.m. London, Yesterday. Arbitration will be utilised to settle the indemnity due the Frenchmen engaged in fishing and curing on the treaty shore, Newfoundland. They will be compelled owing to the present agreement to relinquigh the industry and their establishments.
British concessions to France northwards of Sokoto, in Africa, consist of eight thousand Bquare miles, chiefly of desert.
The agreement provideß for the least disturbance existing in the conditions in the various countries included in the arrangements.
M. Nalidoff, the Russian Ambassador in France, interviewed, eulogised the settlement of Egypt and Morocco, ana added Russians were delighted, as allies, at the fresh guarantee of the strength and security accruing to France. Moreover, he continued, the- proverb says " A friend's friends are our friends," and who knows whether the proverb may not be verified afresh.
