Wellington wins Principal Prizest

The finals in connection with the Bowling Tournament played this morn ing, resulted as follows:— Rink Championship—Victoria Club, Wellington (Brackenridgo.) 27, boat Dunedin Club (McLaren) 20. Duuedin Club (Sinclair). 21, beat Green Island (Buchanan), 17 for third prize. The champion doubles final resulted in a wiu for Thordon (Churchward and Webb) 30, who beat Timaru (Summers and Rowley) 11. In the Consolation Rinka Final, Oaraaru (Martin) 19, beat Ruatuna (Sneddon) 17, and won tbo prize. On Thursday in tho Champion Junior match Watchorn (26) beat Haydon (18). In the Handicap Singles Whiteford (21), including 2 points handicap, defeated Sinimonds (10) ; and Clausen (21) defeated Watchorn (16). It is a matter of great pleasure to the local bowlers to know that their efforts to entertain the members of the various clubs wl'O visited PaLinerston during tournament; week were appreciated. Yesterday Mr James Nasb the secretary of the Palmerston Club received three messages indicative of that appreciation. I think it is one, if not the most successful of the tournaments we have ever had, and yo it club did things " up to the knocker " The secretary of the Nelson Club has written as follows :—Three rinks propose to give themselves the pleasure of playing your Club on Tuesday 10th February Our rinks will be :—Edwards, Plitt, Brown, and Sharp; King, Bis'ey, Trasi, and Eout; Allen, Phillips Wastcey, and Webb.
