STOP SWAGGERING.
I ■ j Just before landing at Capetown, Eavl Grey, presiding at a smoking concert on board tho Braemar Castle, ' addressed tbo young men, about 350, who wera going to find a living in South Africa. He advised them not i to adopt a swaggering aud over-bear-ing attitude towards their lata enemies, but to ho!d out- the hand of friendship. The terms Briton and Boer should be banished from their vocabulary. There was no objection to dividing the population into different camps, such as Tory and Radical, Liberal and Conservative, Progressive and Reactionary, but he earnestly urged them to refrain from keeping alive racial feeling by dividing the population into Britons and Boers.
