Auckland v. Taranaki.

Haweea, Wednesday. The cricket match between Auckland and Taranaki commencad to-day. The home team went first to the wickets and made 129. The highest scorers were Pratt 18, Cole 11, McCarthy 46, Gudgeon 17. N. B. Lusk took six wickets for 40, H Lusk three for 24, Southall two for 10, Barclay one for 44. The Auckland men made 132 in their first Innings. The highest scorers were—H. Luck 82, Gleeson 37, Campbell 29, N. B. Lusk 18. McCarty took five wickets for 31, Glasgow four for 23, Elliott one for 15. Taranaki in their second innings made 190 for five wickets, Prats 63, Gardner 43, F. Robinson 30, McCarfcy not out 19.
