CONTROL OF BORDER LAND
(Rec. 2.10 p.m.) ROME, Dec. 30. The Italian Government has announced the appointment of a council for Val Aosta consisting of nominees from the local National Liberation Committee. Val Aosta is a valley on the Franco-Italian border which was occupied by French troops after the Italian collapse. The French have withdrawn their unofficial claims to the territory and British and American troops are expected'to leave soon.
