Prospects of an early end of rationing in Australia are not bright, according to Senator Keane, Minister of Customs, when commenting on a Sydney newspaper report that rationing would be abolished
early next year. Senator Keane said that all food items at present rationed would continue to be rationed until conditions justified the lifting of restrictions. The matter had not been discussed by the Government. . Leading officials of the, Ka tlon "JS Commission in Sydney denied that the Federal Government intended to end food rationing early next year We liaye received no advice of. any change frojn the Government, but. on the contrary, have received instructions showins that we are to carry on as usual, said one officer.
