London. —Professor R. van Gencchten, former Dutch Attorney-General, who was sentenced to death by a special tribunal for having assisted the enemy, committed suicide by hanging in his prison coll. His ease was due to bo considered by the Court of Appeal. Ottawa.—Only two of 245 members of tho Canadian House of Representatives objected to preliminary moves to increase members’ pay from 4000 to 6000 dollars a year.
