WEST END SCHOOL
Advice has been received that the grading of the West End School has been raised to Class VIB, according to a report from the headmaster (Mr H. W. Jackson) presented at a meeting of the School Committee. The school will now be entitled to an A grade assistant teacher in place of a IJ grade, and an additional probationary assistant. The roll now numbers 435, Mr Jackson said. The headmaster extended the compliments of the season to the committee, and the chairman (Mr J. W. Davis) replied, saying that the relations between the committee and its staff had been particularly happy. The installation of gymnastic facilities at the school was discussed, and it was decided to provide these for the ensuing year.
