CITIZENS’ LUNCH CLUB
ANNUAL MEETING
The annual meeting of the Citizens’. Lunch Club was held yesterday, the president (Mr W. Laurie) being in the chair, in a review of the activities during the year the president said he was sure all had enjoyed the meetings. He said that he had enjoyed the friendship of the members while in the position of president. He paid a tribute to the energies of the assistant-secretary (Mr W. H. Brown) and the programme organiser (Mr S. C. Prosser). Mr Laurie expressed regret that the honorary life secretary, Mr J. H. Stevens, was not present. This was the first annual meeting that Mr Stevens had missed since the inception of the club 26 years ago. He was out of town on uie present occasion. The election of officers resulted.— President, Mr Prosser; vice-presidents, Messrs S. W. Oliver and A. M. Spilman; executive, Messrs A. S. Bayliss, G. W. Callander, \V. Lowrie, J. W. Iverby, M. D. Harvey, J. P. Stubbs, and ±i. W. Hall and Major C. Neeve. Mr Prosser paid a tribute to the work of Mr Laurie; he had given of his best for the club, and tiiis was greatly appreciated. Reference was made to Mr and Mrs J. W. Beck, the manager and manageress of the tearooms and the services they had rendered the club. In recognition of these, Mr Beck was elected an honorary member. Vocal items were given by Mr G. S. Leighton.
