MORE MINES IDLE
RHONDDA MEN EMERGE
(Rcc. 9.30 a.m.) SYDNEY, Aug. 23. Eight mines were idle today over the Rhondda, bathroom. Three hundred miners at two more northern pits went on strike in sympathy with the stay-in strikers at Rhondda. All told. 1(3 pits were not working today, resulting in a total loss of 17,000 tons, and this a day after the announcement of rail service cuts and a warning bv the . Coal Commissioner (Air Migheil) that industries would have to bo curtailed because of the coal shortage. The Rhondda men, who have been staging the stay-in strike sinco Monday morning, came out of tho pit today after having been down for 75 hours, but before they had conic up two other collieries had gone on strike in sympathy.
