Al-Sirat will have his first race of tho season in the Wanganui Guineas, in which ho will probably be ridden by W. J. Broughton. He has wintered very well.

Tara King is working in splendid style at Trcntham and will start off the new season with a race at Wanganui.

That good mare Macedoine is to resume racing at the Wanganui _ fixture. She is carrying plenty of condition. Master Robin has done only routine work since'the Grand National meeting and it is probable that bis first classic engagement will bo in the Avondale Guineas. Typhoon has done so well that he may be raced in tho open sprint on the second day of the Wanganui meeting, with a further outing at the Foxton races at Awapuni. Ho is booked to leave for Melbourne in the last week of September. The gymkhana which is being hold at tho Foxton racecourse tomorrow to raise funds for the physical welfare of tho youth of the district is worthy of every support. Tho programme is a comprehensive one and likely to provide a good deal of entertainment. The events for which handicaps have so far been declared are: Half-mile Gallop: Trig Station 9.Y, Vivid Night 9.5, Conic True, Gay Lena 5.12, Victory Lass, Man’s Pride 8.10, Ilikovangi 8.9, Sports Suit, Boy Gay, Hunting Star, Wild Boy 8.7. Carnival Gallon (six furlongs): Trig Station 9.6, foreign Coin 9.4. Vivid Night 9.2, Gay Lena, Come True 9.0, Victory Lass, Man’s Pride 8.9, Stop Far. Lily, Darcy, Hunting Star, Sambro, Ilokio, Sergeant Jack, Pursuit, Incline, Ilikorangi, Play Suit 3.7. 'I rotting Race (unhoppled trotters), one mile and a half: Mac’s Gift, Dame Rumour. Betterwah, Red Knight, Sydney McKinney, Best Girl scr., King Parrish 60y3s bhd., Strummcr 120.
