WORK AT AWAPUNI. (By “Spectator.”) With a big improvement in the condition of the tracks at Awapuni and the approach of spring meetings, the horses are now being sent along in their work although most of them are backward. A. E. Didhain is anxious to take Royal Flight to Australia for the Caulfield Cup and, provided she does not receive a penally tor her success in the Winter Cup, she will make the trip. That good handicap performer Royal Lancer is in work at Riverton and has already done some jumping. Ho will probably have his next race as a hurdler. Arrangements are in hand to race the Riccarton three-year-old Brown Derby in the Wanganui Guineas. Ho is a very useful sort. It will bo remembered that the Riccnrton-trained Gulf Stream came north to win the Guineas when the contest was held at Martoti.
