FROCKS IN "QUIET WEDDING"
One of the outstanding features of the Repertory Society's production, "Quiet Wedding," which opens its season in the Opera House tonight, is the forcking. As Janet Boyd, the bride, Mrs J. Kenning has opportunity for several changes in hor gowns, ber first appearance being made in an afternoon frock of ci'epc in vieux rose, its simplicity being' relieved by trimming of dull gold buttons. Act 2 givcs_ hor an opportunity to wear an informal dinner frock of navy and white linen, while the next scene in the same act finds hor in an emerald green "shirtn.alter" frock over which she wears an oyster fleecy casual coat. She makes her iinal appeal ancc dressed in her bridal gown of dull parchment satin, filmy veil and bouquet of golden flowers. Mrs Iloyd (played bj Mrs L. Craven) wears a teal blue striped linen suit on her first appearance, changing to an evening gown of reseda green velvet for dinner. For the -wedding-she has a dark beige lace frock which is trimmed with golden brown fur and velvet. Miss B. Driver, as the favourite Aunt Mary, arrives in a tan Harris tweed suit, changing to an evening frock of unusual material in turquoise and black. Her choice for the wedding is oyster georgette and lace. Florence Bute —another aunt, played by Miss M. Murphy, has a fussy blouse of organdie worn tinder a black velvet suit for the wedding, her black and white hat being hor one gesture to modern tendencies. Her earlier appealances are made in floral frocks. Miranda (the daughter of Florence Bute), played by Miss J. Hassell, appears in a lovely picture frock of apple green tulle, which is trimmed with rows of green Valenciennes lace, a large tulle hat with cherry ribbons. Miss N. Marshall as the privileged servant of the Boyd family has little scope for dressing, but makes up in humour for what is missing in her appearance. Miss B. Farrahcr as the French dressmaker makes her appearances suit- ! ably dressed in black. As flower girl ' A. Wirun makes her first entrance in a navy blue silk frock which has an overcoat of the same material, its unusual feature being long sleeves forming a cape stylo. In the evening she wears a cerise georgette blouse which has very full long sleeves, over a black georgette skirt. At tile waist she wears a cerise sash which falls gracefully over the black skirt. For the wedding she wears a multi-coloured net frock worn over crimson underfrock and carries a large black hat.
