INTENSE ANTI-CYCLONE (P.A.) WELLINGTON, Aug. 22. An intense anti-cyclone is south-east of the Dominion and a trough of low pressure is over the Western Tasman. The forecast up to 5 p.m. on Thursday is for light to moderate northerly winds, freshening slowly tomorrow in the south; weather fair; cool to moderate temperatures. Further outlook : Cloud increasing.
River gauge. —Noon, 4ft. Sunrise.—7.2 a.m.; sunset, 5.46 p.m. Tide tabic—High water at Manawatu Heads: Today, 9.49 a.m., 9.29 p.m. tomorrow, 10.29 a.m., 10.9 p.m. Full moon.—August 23; last quarter. August 30.
