HEALTH 0E PRISONERS
(11.10 a.m.) CHUNGKING, Aug. 21. A humanitarian team has released several airmen—captives since the famous Doolittle raid—whom the Japanese charged with murder. One is in such a serious condition from beriberi that he is unable to travel by air. Briga-dier-General Olmstead said the humanitarian teams at the prisoner-of-war and internment camps had so far found that the prisoners had had adequate medical attention. There is a low incidence of hospital cases, but the prisoners are generally underweight.
