RUSH FOR RUGBY SEATS

(Press Assn.) AUCKLAND, Aug. 20. Hundreds of Aucklandcrs were disappointed this morning when they sought seats for the first inter-Island Rugby match to be played here for 23 years. The 300 seats_ available to the public were sold within 25 minutes to persons heading the queue which stretched a long way up Queen Street. Tho first enthusiasts arrived before 11 o'clock last night, but all those who arrived before daylight secured seats. The Eden Park stand, holding only approximately 1200, is totally inadequate for such an attraction. Some 900 seats were booked preferentially by the local clubs and unions and subunions as far south as the Bay of Plenty and Wairarapa, each of which was allotted 20 seats.
