BULGARIAN ELECTIONS

LONDON, August 20. The Moscow radio says the Bulgarian Prime Minister (Dr Georgiev) announced that the Bulgarian elections would be held on August 26 despite attempts at home and abroad to secure their postponement. He added that the Government had taken steps to ensure that the elections would be held in complete freedom. The British Government's attitude toward Bulgaria is entirely in agreement with America's, saysj the Daily Telegraph diplomatic correspondent. Both Governments view critically the extent to which the Communists are penetrating Government organisations to the exclusion of all other parties. The political situation in Yugoslavia is also causing some concern.
