WILLARD HOME BOARD

Mrs ". O. Barnett was welcomed back after several months' leave of absence at the- monthly meeting of the Willard Children's Home Board, over which she presided on Monday. The children's health was reported as being good by trie matron, who mentioned that four had gone to visit relatives during the holidays. '1 he Divisional Commissioner of Guides (Mrs E _W. Mills) is to bo thanked for her assislanco in arranging transport for some of the girls to attend Guide meetings. Donations of £2 from the Russell Street Sunday School children and £l4 10s from the Manawatu Scottish Society from the proceeds of its charity ball were gratefully received. Visitors to the home for the month will be Mesdamcs Child. Carve and Bcdiugfield. Mrs Barnett paid a tribute to the services rendered by the late Mr T. R. Hodder, who had been a member of the advisory board since its inception, and members stood in silence as a mark of sympathy with Mrs Hodder and family.
