NO WAGE CUTS
A categorical denial that the National Party would reduce wages, social security benefits, or pensions was given by Mr C. M. Bowden, M.P., in his address in Palmerston North last night. This charge, he said, was frequently heard, but the party had made itself clear in its 1943 manifesto and that attitude was unchanged. At another stage of his address Mr Bowden expressed himself as strongly in favour of high real wages as opposed to nominal wages. This, lie contended, was one of the keys to the success of industry.
