NEED FOR TOWN PLANNING
The need for town planning in Pa'lmerstort North, the more so now that factory expansion was taking place in the city, was stressed at a meeting of the City Council, last evening, bv Cr T. P. Hart. He suggested that Mr J. W. Mawson, the authority on town planning, be asked to suggest a suitable man to.carry forward the plans for Palmerston North. The engineer (Mr J. It. Hughes) said the actual planning work had been completed, but what was required now was the setting out of the plans made on paper. This involved engineering assistance of a skilled type. An appointment made that night might assist in this direction, and he undertook to examine the position thoroughly to see if the drawing of the plans could be advanced.
