GUERNSEY CONSTITUTION
PETITION TO KING. LONDON, Aug. 6
Thousands of residents in Guernsey queued up throughout the week-end to sign a petition to the King drawing attention to the “grievances and injustices” they suffer, says the Daily Herald. Six thousand have already signed the petition, which calls ior reformation of the Constitution on a democratic basis. The islanders want the States Assembly elected entirely from a direct vote of the people.
