“Love” was the subject of the LessonSermon in all Churches of Christ, Scientist. on Sunday. The Golden Text was 1 John 4:16: “We have known and behoved the love that God hath to us. God is love, and he that dwelleth in love dwolleth in God, and God in him.” Among the citations which comprised the LpssonSennon were the following from the Bible • “In that day it shall be said to Jerul salem. Fear thou not: and to Zion, Let not thine hands be slack. The Lord thv God in the midst of thee is mighty Ho will save, He will rejoice over thee ’with joy; He will rest in His love, 11c will i 0 v over thee with singing.” (Zcphaniah 3-16 17.) Also the following passages from the Christian Science textbook. “Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures ” bv Mary Baker Eddy: “The fear of disease and the love of sin are tho sources of man’s enslavement. ‘The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom,’ but the Scrip tures also declare, through tile exalted thought of John, that ‘perfect love casteth out fear.’ Christian Science silences hu man will, quiets fear with Truth and Love and illustrates the unlaboured motion of the divine energy in healing the sick (pp. 373, 445.)
