NOTED PIANIST
The great triumphs scored by Isador Goodman, the distinguished Australian pianist, wherever' he -has performed will no doubt be repeated when lie visits Palmcrston North on Wednesday to give a recital in the Opera House. His outstanding talent lias been acclaimed in many parts of the world and to music enthusiasts, who have been severely "rationed" by the war in the number of overseas artists, his performance will bo highly welcome. Of two of his major works it was said after his performance in another of the Dominion's cities: "Opening his recital with Tausig's spectacular arrange-, ment of Baeh's organ Toccata and Fugue in D minor,' Mr Goodman treated his audience to a dazzling display of octaves in tiie toccato and made light of the many technical difficulties of the fugueMr Goodman's performance of Beethoven's great 'Sonata in F minor' left little to be desired, being scholarly and in the best tradition and never overdrawn or forced in its conception." The ■ box plan is at Clias. Bcgg and Coy., the Square.
