KIMBOLTON INSTITUTE

Mrs G. J. Gerke presided over a good attendance of members at the December meeting of the Women's Institute. Members were asked to bring their exhibits for the Feilding A. and P. Show wool competition to the January meeting. A busy afternoon was spent packing soldiers' patriotic parcels. There was the usual good supply of home cooking for the parcel, c-.-r which the boys are grateful. The nextlot of private parcels for local boys will bo packed in January. At the conclusion of the meeting the president expressed hopes that this would be the last Christmas of war, and that the New Year would be a victory year and one of peace. A committee meeting will be held at Mrs Jones's home on January 8. Competitions resulted • Bowl of mixed flowers, Mrs Anstis 1. Three roses: Mrs Gerke, 1. Best bloomMrs Youle and Mrs Craighead, equal. 1. The competitions for next month will be: Sweet peas (not more than six), gladioli (3) and best bloom in garden. The hostesses will be Mesdames Scott and Schmidt find Miss Livingston.
