BRITAIN'S SPIRIT
CHRISTMAS MESSAGE
FROM THE EMPIRE NEWS "We send you and your readers Christmas greetings and best wishes for a good and victorious New Year. In five years of war ' Britain has received and appreciated the vigorous and faithful assistance, and the. comradeship, of all the nations of the Commonwealth. "We believe that the spirit which has brought us from adversity to triumph will bring us prosperity and lasting peace. "And the Sunday Empire News intends to strive at all times for the maintenance of Empire strength, Empire unity, and Empire progress." This Christmas message has been received by the "Manawatu Standard" from the Editor (Mr J. A. Wooderidge) of the Empire News, one of the Kemsley Newspapers, Ltd., a journal which is, as its message so clearly indicates, working in the cause of a strong and prosperous British Empire. The Empire News is published each Sunday at Manchester. Our readers, we are sure, will heartily reciprocate the lofty tone of this message from the Homeland this Christmas.
