DREAM REALISED
2 50 MEN RETUKN. (Press Assn.) WELLINGTON, ]>ec. 22. The serviceman’s dream—home for Christmas—has been realised by 250 Navy and Army repatriates (including escaped prisoners of war from Switzerland), nurses, W.A.A.C.’s and Air Eorcc personnel who have arrived in New Zealand just in time for the good arrangements by the military authorities to make it possible for them to enjoy Christmas with their families. All that is behind them is unimportant compared with the realisation ofthe years-long dream of Christmas at home. Adventures that would fill a prewar length novel were forgotten as they made it plain to interviewers that nothing mattered in comparison with being with their kin again for the greatest of family festivals. The list includes T/Capt. A. T. Howse, Pie. E. E. Maddoek (Otaki), Cpl. J. It. McMillan (Dannevirke), Pte. P. L. Bremner (Foxton), Pte. J. ! T. Bromley (Palmerston North) and L/Cpl. D. Brucre (Woodville). Among a number of It.N.Z.A.F. personnel who have arrived in New Zealand from the Middle Fast and India is L.A.C. L. M. Carthew. Feilding.
