CLOTHING FOR EUROPE
(Press Assn.) WELLINGTON, Nov 30 Women Home Leaguers, of the Salvation Army throughout the Dominion have been industriously working for some months past in the interests of the distressed peoples of the invaded countries of Europe, and particularly of Greece. In response to an appeal made by Mrs Commissioner Smith, territorial president of the Home League, a large number of garments for women, children and men have been sent into the department. In response to an urgent call from the Greek Government, more than 500 packed garments of all kinds for Greece are being sent direct, but those for all other parts of Europe will be despatched to Mrs General Carpenter. Seven dozen knitted woollies for babies already have been posted to Mrs Carpenter for the Salvation'Army's Mothers' Hospital in London. One Home League parcel contained 77 children's petticoats skilfully made from stocking tops.
