VALEDICTORY
A very happy gathering met at Feilding, on Saturday, September 23, the occasion being a farewell dinner party and presentation to Mr J. J. Evans, h'te mannircr of the Wellington Meat Export Company, on the occasion of Jus severing his connection with the company to take over the general managership of the New Zealand Meat Producers' Board. This little function was organised by the various buyers in the Wellington Province connected with the Wellington Meat Export works, and embraced fat-stock buyers from Taihape to Levin .on the West Const and Pahiatua to Martinborough on the East Coast. The chair was occupied by Mr J. Caithness, of Marton, who presented the guest with a small token in recognition of his very many happy years with the company, other speakers endorsing Mr Caithness's remarks. Mr Evans, in reply, said he regretted severing his connection with the company, where he had made so many good friends, but in his position with the Meat Board he naturally would see quite a lot of them in the future.
