Rugby.—United States industry delivered 86,000 aircraft in 1943, compared with 48,000 in 1942. Aeroplane production has now been pushed to the goal of 8800 monthly set bv Mr Roosevelt after Pearl Harbour. The current rate of merchant ship construction is many times higher than the current rate of sinking*.
