In tho Palmerston North district during 1943 there were fewer births than in 1942, the figures being 780 for 1943 and 819 for 1942. Deaths in 1943 numbered 415 compared with 410 in 1942.. and marriages 332 compared with 336. The December births numbered 57, against 56 in December, 1942; deaths 28 ( 20) and .marriages 22 ( 33).
