PRICE ON ROMMEL'S HEAD
A Londoner, Mr Charles E. Lee, the 74-year-old grandfather of Captain Edgar Gibbons, serving with the Riilc Brigade in Libya, has cabled his grandson offering £IO,OOO for the capture of Rommel, dead or alive, reports a Sydney Morning Herald London correspondent. Mr Lep said that this was his way of showing appreciation of what the Rifle Brigado was doing. "My grandson has been in the desert for many months," he added, "and was directly responsible for the capture of two Italian generals. When Rommel captured Tobruk Captain Gibbons refused to surrender and escaped to the British lines."
