THE WAR BALLOTS
(P.A.) WELLINGTON, Dec* 24. Altogether 19 groups of men have been called up for service with the Armed Forces. The total number of names gazetted was 317,553. This includes 34,494 who were called first for Territorial service and later also for Expeditionary Force purposes. The actual number affected bv the call-ups is probably about 280,000. The total number affected by the Gazette notice on Wednesday was 31,997. embracing the remaining men in the first and second divisions of the General Reserve and leaving for future call-ups only those becoming eligible from time to time because of their attaining the age of IS or for other reasons.
