ROMMEL’S PROBLEM
SHIPPING AND SUPPLIES MAINTENANCE DIFFICULT LONDON, Sept. 24. On the Egyptian front all is quiet except for patrol work. A correspondent says that the British front is not a continuous line, but a series of strong-points. Tho enemy has not “poked his head out again”, and it is clear that Rommel's big problem is shipping and supplies.
The correspondent adds that it is not enough for tho enemy to get his tanks and guns across the Mediterranean ; ho has to maintain them, and that is not an easy task. Meantime, the Eighth Army continues to increase in strength. Keeping up-their strafing of Rommel’s supply lines Allied bombers attacked Sidi Haneish and l'ulta. The pilots report that they saw large fires at both places.
