NATIONAL PARTY
At a meeting of the women's section of the National Party Mrs W. F. Field, who presided, was welcomed back after her accident. Arrangements were made for servicing the A.N.A. canteen at tho week-end of October 2, 3 and 4, and names given of those willing to help the Crippled Children Society in the sale of badges on October 2. Reports were received from the war work section, 28 parcels having been packed for individual servicemen, tbs names being handed in by members of the section. Two parcels were packed for British soldiers. The contents of the parcels were very well chosen and should prove most acceptable ; 53 garments had been dispatched to the United Guild. Miss Murray reported on tho bridge afternoons, which had been most satisfactory. More holp was requested for staffing tho club, it being stressed that all the labour was voluntary and owing to the increased activity of the club the requirements were so much greater. The club was booked for nearly every afternoon. Mr.IT. G. Mills (chairman of the election committee) addressed the meeting, with a request from headquarters that the women’s section should hold special meetings to discuss problems of interest to women. It was decided to hold the first of- these meetings next month, members being asked to bring their friends. These discussions, it was slated, should prove valuable, as the results are to be forwarded to headquar tors. A combined meeting of the electorate and women’s committee followed, and very interesting matters were discussed.
