NATIONAL PARTY

Mrs W. F. Pieid presided at the monthly meeting of the women's section of the National Party yesterday. In response to a circular from the W-W.S.A. two delegates, Mesdames Malcolm and Gillott, attended a meeting concerning war savings and "bonds for bombers" "and gave a. comprehensive report. Several members volunteered to assist at the shelter. Reporting for the war work section, Mrs GiTlott said 45 new garments had been forwarded to the United Guild and knitted goods were ready for the next parcels The services of Mrs BridenJoncs (convener) and Mrs Gillot (secretary), who are relinquishing these positions for health reasons, were the subject of well-deserved eulogy. A general meeting followed the monthly meeting, the president congratulating members on the work they have done and thanking them for their loyalty. The secretary read a report on activities for the past year and the balance-sheet was presented by Mrs Gillott (treasurer). The annual report of the war work section was read and Airs Hayward (convener oi the house committee) presented the club report. Miss Murray (convener ot the bridge section) reported on the activities of this committee, alter which she was unanimously elected a vice-president. It was decided to purchase bonds for bombers. The following committee was elected : President, Mrs W. F. Field; secretary, Mrs J. H. Whyte; assistant, Mrs H. A. Seifert; treasurer, Mrs H. Gillott; vice-presidents. Mesdames NBlackmore, J. T. Bosworth, A. P. Fitzhcrbert, J. A. Nash, Misses Hewitt, .Warburton, and M. Murray; committee, ' Mesdames L. Bale, D. Black, W. Briden-Jones, Cummernekl, J. Davidson, C. A. Driver, Everiss, Caisford, H. Gillott, E. Grimshaw, C. Hayward, G. Burns, Malcolm, H. EMills, H. A. Seifert, Shann, S. Rawcliffc, Wilson, Allison, Hartog, King, Misses Deroles, E. Owtram, and E. Warren. Several other names will be added subject to their approval. Mr R. Spencer was thanked for auditing the books.
