Pioneer's Passing. One of the oldest residents of Feilding—if not the oldest —passed away yesterday in the person of Mrs Emma. Belk, of Warwick Street, whose continuous residence in Feilding totalled 63 years. She was 86 years of age and was predeceased by her husband, the late Mr John Belk, in 1937. Born in London, Mrs Belk was married in Palmerston North in 1874, and almost up till the time of his death, at the ripe age of 92 years, her husband carried on business as an engineer in Feilding and had a number of inventions to his credit. Mrs Belk was a devout member of the Baptist Church, having bean associated with it for some 33 years, during which lengthy period she did much to assist the finance by donating intricate and much admired needlework. There are five sons and three daughters of the marriage, two of the former, Messrs Lcomml and Reuben Belk, serving for four years in the Great War. Members of the family are Messrs Algcn and Avery Belk (Feilding), Andrew and Leonard Belk (Palmerston North), and Reuben Belk (Te Kuiti), and Mesdames Jones (Levin), J. Nairn (Hawera) and Miss Violet Belk, of Feilding, with whom, the late Mrs Belk had lived. Bride to be Honoured.

Last night members of the St. John Girls' Club gathered at the home of the president (Mrs A. G. C. M.arsden, of Aorangi) to honour Miss M. Herdman, whose marriage takes place shortly. Mrs Marsden, on behalf of members, made a presentation to Miss Herdman land extended best wishes for her future happiness.
