Sitting in Pulmcrslon North yesterday 4A Armed Forces Appeal Board icommenced a iour-day series of hearings at tins centre. 'J ho appeals, with the exception of those ul conscientious objectors, are all in respect of overseas service. Air Jl. B. bush presided and ttiero were associated, with him .Messrs F. H. Fitzherbert). both adjourned si lie die, but one reservist (to be arranged) is to do Territorial training from May 1 to July 31. D. E. Edwards, farmer, of Wcakarongo, appeal by A. W. Edwards (Mr Fitzhcrbert), adjourned sine die, reservist to remain in the Homo Guard. S. Christensen, farm-hand, of Oroua Downs, appeal by V. Bird (Mr Fitzherbcrt) and reservist; reservist to do Territorial service between May 1 and July 31. B. C. J Marshall, farmer, of Bunnythorpe, appeal by Mrs E. B. Marshall and reservist (Mr Fitzherbert); adjourned sine die. J. A. G. Hedley, farmer, of Oroua Downs, appeal oy J. A. Hedley (Mr G. Tremaine) and reservist; adjourned sine die, reservist to remain in the Home Guard and appellant to grow food crops if at all possible. F. H. C. Bond, farmer, of Lockwood, appeals by reservist and M. M. Luckie, for the' Est. of late H. Bond (Mr F. J. Oakley); adjourned sine die ; reservist to remain in the Home Guard. R. C. Lethbridge, cheese-maker, of Palmerston North, appeal by Newbury Dairy Company; to do Territorial training from May 1 to July 31. It. T. Lee, cheese factory hand, of Newbury, appeal by Director of National Service; dismissed, not to be called up belore May 31. K. E. Worboys, of Awahuri, farm-hand, appeal bv H. N. W Lancaster (-Mr Oakley); not to be called up before May 31; T. M. Brosnan, of Rongotea, farm manager (Mr G. E. Rowe), appeal by Mrs M. E. lirosman, dismissed; not to be called up before May 31; P. Corbett, of Kairanga, farmer, appeal by J. Corbett (Mr Rowe); not to be called up lwfore May 31 : P. Hansen, of Carnarvon, farmer (Mr Rowe), appealby reservist, adjourned till next sittings of the board in Palmerston North ; B. T. Jackson, truck driver and drill assistant, and J. D. Sexton, geophysical assistant, appeal by Superior Oil Co. of N.Z., Ltd., adjourned sine die; H. C Aislabie, engineer, of Palmerston North, appeal by Berry Engineering Works, Ltd. (Mr Rowe), dismissed.

TO-DAY'S APPEALS. D. J. Tennant, checseinaker, appeal by Awahuri Dairy Company for deferring of servico until the end of April; not to be called up before April 30. H. A. Mackay, railway fitter, of Palmerston North, W. E. Cooper, fit-ter-turner, of Hutt and now on loan to a firm in Foxton, A. A. Dunlop, cleaner and acting-fireman, of Palmerston North, appeals by the Director of National Service, all adjourned sine die. P. T. Kelliher, linesman, of Tuae, S. G Jamieson. linesman, of Waiouru, W. E. Feetham, linesman, of Mataroa, aopeals by Director of National Service * for Public Works Department; appeal regarding Jamieson adjourned until finst sittings in June; others adjourned sine die.
