COMMUNIST PARTY
The consistency of tlio Communist Party’s policy in fighting Fascism I from the time it first appeared in tiro J world tv as pointed out by both speakers at the public meeting held oil ; Saturday night. The first speaker, Mrs M. Manning, said that the aim of the I Communist Party was peace, as it had always been. Communists had eonsisj teiitly advocated a just peace —a peace I without annexations and indemnities, 'a peace which would not contain the seeds of another war, a peaco founded on freedom and not oppression. The Soviet Union, which must ho victorious in tlio present struggle, was a force that would bring about such a peace. She said that the Communist Party wholly supported the present war on German Fascism, because a just peaco was not possible without a victory over the forces of Nazi Germany. Mr M. Omerod traced tlio policy of the Communist Party’s fight against Fascism more fully than the previous speaker, referring to files of the People’s A’oiec to prove his points. He stated that since the Soviet Union entered the war the voice of the working class must bo heard more than ever. Peace could only bo obtained by the victory of the ltcd Army. A reso- J lutiou that the ban on the People's | Voice be removed and that political prisoners bo released was carried unanimously.
